Two of the men charged for stealing an antique motor from Seneca Resources’ property and a chop saw belonging to Cummins Construction have waived their preliminary hearings. Duane Gonzalez of Bradford and Timothy Slotta of Turtlepoint allegedly sold the items to Metallico. Charges against their co-defendant, 34-year-old Joshua Everly of Bradford, were bound to court following a hearing in front of District Judge Rich Luther. A man who denied allegations that he inappropriately touched a woman back in July admitted to it earlier today. 21-year-old Trevor Neal of Turtlepoint is charged with aggravated indecent assault in connection to an incident at a 44-year-old woman’s home on the night of July 6. After the woman reported it to police, Neal told them he went inside the house to get the guns and cigarettes he left while partying there earlier. He said he was trying to wake her up and didn’t mean to touch her inappropriately. Today, he admitted that he went into the bedroom with the intention of “copping a feel,” and did grab her, according to papers filed in District Judge Bill Todd’s office. A third man has been arrested in connection with the theft of an antique Bovaird and Seyfang motor from Seneca Resources. 34-year-old Joshua Everly of Bradford is charged with theft and receiving stolen property. Everly, along with Duane Gonzalez of Bradford and Timothy Slotta of Turtlepoint, are accused of selling the motor to Metalico Services of Bradford. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947

Charges against a Turtlepoint man accused of failing to register with Megan’s Law have been bound to court. 61-year-old Gregory Koons failed to re-register in January. He also failed to re-register last October. He’s in McKean County Jail on $50,000 bail. In 1991 he was convicted for the attempted rape of a 15-year-old girl in Chemung County, New York. Part of Champlin Hill Road in Turtlepoint will be closed starting Monday so crews can repair a state-owned bridge. The 200-foot bridge spans the Allegheny River in the village and will get a new deck and beams, along with a small amount of paving. PennDOT’s official detour is about 8 ½ miles long and will take drivers to Route 155, Route 446 and then back to Champlin Hill Road. All work is weather dependent. Someone kidnapped a dog from inside a Turtlepoint barn over the weekend. State police say someone went into Wayne Stambaugh’s barn on Long Hollow Road sometime between Friday and Sunday and took a Walker Coon Hound named Sally, who has a white rectangle on her back. A man remains in intensive care in UPMC Hamot in Erie after the car he was a passenger in crashed late Friday night near Turtlepoint. 36-year-old Tim Vaughn Jr. was in a car driven by 57-year-old Tim Vaughn Sr. of Eldred when it was on Route 155 just south of Champlin Hill Road at about 11:15 p.m. Police say the car was speeding when it went off the east berm, traveled along a steep ditch, went airborne and rolled multiple times. The senior Vaughn was taken to ECMC in Buffalo for treatment of his injuries. He was cited for multiple vehicle code violations. Additional charges are pending blood test results. The Olean man who led police on a chase from Olean to Turtlepoint in March of last year has been sentenced to four years in prison. 26-year-old Paul Tyler Jr. was also sentenced for attempted to break into Olean houses between June 3 and June 11 of 2011. As for the police chase, when officers tried to pull him over in Olean on March 29 he drove away and led them on a chase into Pennsylvania, where he crashed his car. He then ran away, but they were able to catch him near Turtlepoint. During the chase he was driving at 75 miles per hour on Olean city streets. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947

An Olean man who led police on a chase from Olean to Turtlepoint back in March has pleaded guilty in Cattaraugus County Court. 25-year-old Paul Tyler Jr. also pleaded guilty to attempted burglary for breaking into houses between June 3 and 11, 2011, in Olean. Then on March 29 of this year police attempted to pull him over in Olean when he took them on a high-speed chase that ended in Turtlepoint, where he crashed his car. He ran away from police, but they were able to catch him near Turtlepoint. Police say Tyler was driving at speeds of 75 miles an hour on Olean city streets during the chase. He is scheduled for sentencing on November 13.

The man who took police on a chase from Olean to Turtlepoint last week has pleaded not guilty to unrelated charges. 25-year-old Paul Tyler Jr. is charged in connection to house burglaries in Portville, Olean and Ellicottville last May and June. He and another person are accused of stealing electronics, jewelry, alcohol, a TV and other items worth more than $3,000. On Thursday Tyler allegedly would not pull over for a traffic stop in Olean, rammed a police car, took officers on a chase to Turtlepoint, where he got out of his car and ran into the woods. Police did catch him and arrest him near Turtlepoint. Tyler is being held in Cattaraugus County Jail without bail. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947

An Olean man wanted on warrants crashed into a police car then took officers on a high-speed chase into Pennsylvania. Olean Police tried to stop 25-year-old Paul Tyler on West Henley Street, but he refused to pull his car over and, at the intersection of West State and 19th streets, crashed into a patrol car. He then drove to South Union Street and into Pennsylvania. After driving at high speeds on several back roads in P-A, Tyler stopped his car on June Road near Turtlepoint and ran into the woods. Police caught up with him and arrested him. He’s currently being held in McKean County Jail. No one was hurt. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947

A Turtlepoint woman is accused of stealing cigarettes from a smoke shop in Cattaraugus County. Sheriff’s deputies say 27-yearl-old Amy Kephart went to Ron’s Smoke Shop in Vandalia twice this month and took a total of seven packs of cigarettes. A smoke shop employee got the license plate number from her car. When deputies contacted her, she turned herself in. Kephart will appear in court at a later date.
