Four men who had been accused of killing a man involved with the Q-Dog drug ring in Western New York have been acquitted in federal court. The men were charged with shooting and killing Quincy Turner in May of 2008 near the Chautauqua County airport because they believed he was an informant snitching on the drug ring run by Quinton Leeper. Prosecutors alleged that Jose Martinez learned Turner was informant and put out a $20,000 hit on him. They believe Felix Vasquez pulled the trigger in the presence of Martinez, Angel Luis Marcial and Carlos Jorge Canales. A fifth man, Juan DeJesus Santiago, made a plea deal and testified for the prosecution. He’s awaiting sentencing. Leeper was sentenced in 2011 to 11 years in prison on drug charges. A Rochester man has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for his role in the contract killing of a Jamestown man in 2008. 23-year-old Diego Correa-Castro and his co-defendants traveled from Rochester to Jamestown to look for 31-year-old Quincy Turner, who was gunned down outside his racecar shop in the Town of Ellicott on May 30, 2008. Correa-Castro was convicted of possession of firearm used in a violent crime. “The significant sentence in this case – imposed upon someone who did not pull the trigger but who nevertheless assisted in finding the intended victim – sends a strong message that our Office will not tolerate such a brutal, violent crime,” said U.S. Attorney William Hochul in a news release. “All of us in federal law enforcement pledge to continue to work with our local and County law enforcement partners to bring the most dangerous members of society to justice.” The other defendants were indicted in August of last year for Turner's murder. A Jamestown man who headed one of the Twin Tiers’ biggest drug rings has been sentenced to 11 years and three months in prison. 35-year-old Quentin Leeper was the kingpin of the Q-Dog drug ring that was broken up after an investigation by the US Drug Enforcement Administration and the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force led to a series of arrests in 2008. In May of 2008, one of Leeper’s drug associates, 31-year-old Quincy Turner, was shot to death after he began cooperating with law enforcement. 42-year-old Jose Martinez of Jamestown is one of five people charged with murdering Turner. All five have pleaded not guilty.

A federal grand jury has indicted a Jamestown man and four Rochester men for their involvement in the 2008 murder of 31-year-old Quincy Turner of Jamestown. The indictment alleges that Turner was murdered to stop him from talking to police about an investigation into the Q-Dog drug ring. The Jamestown man indicted is 42-year-old Jose “Noelle” Martinez. All five men face the death penalty if they’re convicted. Turner was shot to death on May 30, 2008, in a fire hall parking lot. The shooting came two months after he was implicated as a co-conspirator in a drug ring allegedly run by Quentin Leeper of Jamestown. Turner was among 11 people charged in the raid.
