An Allegany woman is accused of stealing from her employer. Ellicottville Police say while 53-year-old Patricia Wesley was working as a store manager for the Ellicottville Kwik Fill she stole merchandise on June 23. The case of a convenience store robbery early this morning was solved quickly, thanks to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department K-9 officer. Deputies say 34-year-old David Zembardo of Jamestown confronted the clerk in a parking lot of the Kwik Fill on Route 60 in the Town of Kiantone after she closed the store. They say he pulled a knife on her, forced her back into the store and took an undisclosed amount of cash. Drago, the K-9 officer, was able to track Zembardo to an area behind some businesses on Foote Avenue in Jamestown. Police are investigating a fraud case involving Kwik Fill and Red Apple stores. They say on June 11 a person went into the stores in Sugar Grove and Pittsfield and paid for nearly $700 worth of gift cards with a Visa Card. United Refining, which owns the stores, has since been notified that the Visa card had been terminated and the company would not be paying United Refining for the purchases. Someone robbed a gas station in Sugar Grove early this morning. Police say a man speaking broken English walked into the Kwik Fill station between 1:45 and 2 a.m. and demanded money. He left with an undisclosed amount of cash. The robber was wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt and black barn boots. United Refining is being accused of not maintaining underground storage tanks at six of its western New York gas stations. EPA is seeking more than $42,000 from the Warren-based company in connection to its Kwik Fill stations in Jamestown, Dunkirk, Westfield, Fredonia and Rochester. Warren Police have arrested the man they believe robbed a Kwik Fill and a Subway Restaurant Saturday. 36-year-old Roger Yaegle was picked up late Monday afternoon in the city. One of the teenagers accused of robbing the East Main Street Kwik Fill in November has waived his preliminary hearing on those charges, as well as charges in a case where he’s a accused of stealing a crossbow that was found near the Kwik Fill crime scene. 18-year-old Alexander Hayes and one of his co-defendants, 16-year-old Nathan Harvey, allegedly threatened the Kwik Fill cashier with a knife while demanding money from the cash register, according to papers filed in District Judge Dominic Cercone’s office. Hayes is also accused of stealing the crossbow and more than $1,300 worth of other property from a pickup truck on Barbour Street. He’s in jail on $100,000 bail. Two more participants in last Friday’s robbery of the Kwik Fill on East Main Street have turned themselves in to Police. 16 year-old Nathan Harvey and 18 year-old Alexander Hayes are both charged with robbery and theft. Hayes was also charged with assault and tampering with evidence and jailed on $100,000 bail. Harvey is being held on $50,000 bail. Their co-defendant, Kyle Eck, turned himself in on Monday.

Bradford City Police have arrested a man who they say admitted to his part in a robbery at the East Main Street Kwik Fill Friday night. Chief Chris Lucco says 18-year-old Kyle Eck approached police this morning and told them about his involvement in the planning and execution of the robbery. He also confirmed details police knew to be true, Lucco said in a news release. Eck admitted that his involvement was to drive his co-conspirators -- 18-year-old Alex Hayes and a male juvenile – to and from the scene. Eck is charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, tampering with evidence and theft. Eck also led officers to the location of the clothing that was worn by his co-defendants during the crime and this clothing was, in fact, identified by officers as what was seen in the video surveillance obtained from the store. The Kwik Fill on East Main Street in Bradford was robbed Friday night. At just before 9 o’clock two young white males entered the store and told the cashier to give them all the money in the register, and threatened her with what is believed to be a knife.
