'Blou Christmas' for the SPCA

To honor Blou, who died one year ago in December Tyb and Cavallaro Paint and Decorating are sponsoring a BLOU CHRISTMAS, to benefit the McKean County SPCA.. From now until Christmas we will be collecting things needed by the shelter for their day-to-day operations. The following items will be accepted at Cavallaro’s, 12 Kennedy Street, during normal business hours: Paper towels, bleach, copy paper, dry dog and cat foot, laundry detergent, 40 gallon garbage bags, Fabuloso, treats, and cat litter; new and/or used leashes, collars, toys, blankets, towels, and bedding. Any cash donations will be gratefully accepted as well. Tyb and Jay Monti will match any cash donations up to a total of $500.00. Triathlon Raises More Than $11,000

Story and Photos by Sandra Rhodes The winner of the Willow Creek Triathlon may have finished the race in less than an hour, but the effects of this annual event will be felt for a long time to come. Saturday’s triathlon amassed the largest number of participants to date as well as more than $11,000 for the Disabled American Veterans of McKean and Warren counties. There were 255 participants – 104 more than last year – who swam, bicycled and ran to help to help the transportation network for veterans, which ensures veterans transportation to and from appointments at VA hospitals and clinics. In the end, the combined efforts of the participants and sponsors – as well as a group of girls who sold lemonade and donated their profits to the triathlon – raised $11,090.63 – 23 percent more than last year. “We are very grateful for all the participants and sponsors that made this happen,” said race director Shane Oschman. “And we are equally ecstatic to be able to give this check to the DAV for...

Cavallaro Paint & Decorating/JC Penney Catalog is hosting a Business After Hours event from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at 12 Kennedy Street, Bradford, PA. Business After Hours (BAH) events give the business and professional community an opportunity to come together in a relaxed, social setting for networking. Cavallaro Paint & Decorating/JC Penney Catalog is pleased to invite BAH attendees to join them in celebrating their first anniversary in business. Held as part of the Bradford Area Chamber of Commerce 2010 BAH series, the event is open to all area businesses and organizations. Refreshments are included; there is no charge to attend. A business card drawing will be held for a door prize. The BACC membership committee is committed to presenting quality opportunities for regional business and service organizations to meet and share experiences.

BACC Award Recipents Announced

The Bradford Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the recipients of their 2010 Awards and the nominees honored in each category. The Option House is the first recipient of the BACC Exemplary Business Award. The BACC Exemplary Business Award is given to a for-profit business that demonstrates a well-planned, commendable, and thorough approach to business development.
