Pumpkin Fest Set for October 14

New dates have been set for Bradford's Annual Pumpkin Fest. The Festival will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2012, from noon to 4pm. Lots of rides, vendors, live music, food, and shows will be setup along Main Street from Tops to the Square. Everyone should be mark their calendars for this family oriented festival, and keep growing their pumpkins so they can enter them in the "Big Pumpkin Contest." Also, start thinking about ideas for the "Scarecrow Decorating Contest," as participants can choose to have their scarecrows displayed along Main Street for the Halloween Season. Pumpkin Fest Committee Members: Kelly Platko of Roseart, Kim Graham and Fred Graham of Graham's Greenhouse and Landscaping, Kim Hallock of Main Street Outlet and DBBDA Member, and Christy Graham of Northwest Savings Bank are looking forward to making this Pumpkin Fest a memorable one. Pumpkin Fest Winners Announced

The final list of winners has been announced for the Pumpkin Fest event that was held in downtown Bradford on Sunday, October 24. Winning the Pumpkin Measuring Contest was Ryan Ward whose pumpkin measured 61 inches in diameter. Second place was Sean Ward and third place was Adam Ward. Winning the Pumpkin Decorating contest for ages 7 to 12 were Brianna and Cassie Platko. Second place was Ellery Signor. Winning the younger age group for the Pumpkin Decorating contest was Kaden Silvis. Second place in that category went to Skye Eakin. Lisa’s Hairport won the Most Creative Scarecrow in the Scarecrow contest and the Marche Club won the Best Traditional Scarecrow. Scarecrows will be on display on Main Street until November 1.

Pumpkin Fest Deadline is Saturday

The registration deadline for vendor booths, the Pumpkin Fest Scarecrow Contest and the Pumpkin Decorating Contest has been extended to Saturday, October 16. The forms are available at the Main Street Mercantile located at 96 Main Street, Bradford. Vendor booths are available at no charge to food and craft vendors and community organizations looking to host game booths. It is recommended that game booths are child oriented and contain a pumpkin theme. Prizes may be awarded at the discretion of the organization hosting the booth. The Scarecrow contest is open to any individual, business or group, with a request that the Scarecrows be tastefully made and/or decorated. The scarecrows will be judged during the Pumpkin Fest and will remain on Main Street until November 1. The Pumpkin Decorating contest is open to any child under the age of 12.
