Limestone Man Sentenced for Sex Crime

A Limestone man has been sentenced to one to four years in state prison for promoting a sexual performance by a child. 36-year-old Billy Dixon was also sentenced to two concurrent one-year terms for possession of a sexual performance by a child younger than 16 and unlawful surveillance. Limestone Man Pleads to Child Sex Charges

A Limestone man has pleaded guilty to promoting a sexual performance by a child and unlawful surveillance. Prosecutors say the first case against 36-year-old Billy Dixon is from March 3, 2013, and involved a child younger than 17. The second was on February 14, 2014, and involved a child younger than 16. The third incident was on August 17, when Dixon recorded a person privately dressing or undressing. All three incidents happened in the Town of Carrollton. Two Men Cited for Fighting

Two men have been cited fighting at the old Limestone School on Saturday. Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s deputies cited 46-year-old George Osborne, of Limestone, and 38-year-old Donald Dixon of Bradford for disorderly conduct. Child Porn Charges Against Limestone Man

Child pornography charges have been filed against a Limestone man. 34-year-old Billy Dixon was arrested following a month-long state police investigation. Dixon is charged with felony unlawful surveillance for sexual arousal, two counts each of felony possession of a child sexual performance and promoting a sexual performance by a child, two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful possession of marijuana. Limestone Woman Gets Conditional Discharge

The Town of Carrollton’s former town clerk who stole more than $3,000 was given a conditional discharge during sentencing in Cattaraugus County Court. 57-year-old Sandra McAndrew of Limestone had been indicted on charges of grand larceny and official misconduct, following a 2012 audit by the New York State Comptroller’s Office that showed she had an apparent shortage of $3,405. She took the money between January 1 of 2006 and December 31 of 2011. McAndrew has paid the money back. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947

A Limestone man who admitted to stabbing another man multiple times with a knife back in December will spend the next 20 years in New York State Prison. 32-year-old Justin Cramer was sentenced in Cattaraugus County Court for stabbing Carey Mills Jr. at Mills’ Limestone Run home on December 12. Man Blames Crime on Gambling Addiction

A gambling addiction caused a man to steal nearly $4,000 from Advance Auto Parts in Bradford. According to court papers 43-year-old Michael Griffin of Limestone told police he was in financial trouble and has a gambling addiction, which led to the thefts. The store’s loss prevention specialists did an investigation of the thefts, which happened between February 11 and July 29, and took a statement from Griffin saying he stole as much as $7,000. Loss Prevention was able to give police documentation showing that Griffin stole $3,727. Griffin is charged with felony counts of theft by unlawful taking, theft by deception and receiving stolen property. He’s free on unsecured bail. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947

Charges against a store manager accused of trading merchandise for drugs have been dismissed. Eric Little of Limestone had been charged in connection to alleged incidents at Family Dollar in Bradford from June of last year until January. Bradford Woman Charged After Limestone Incident

A domestic incident in Limestone has led to charges against a Bradford woman. Sheriff’s deputies say 29-year-ond Brandi Ann Holsinger punched at bit her ex-boyfriend while they were on a logging road off Parkside Drive at 10:45 Monday morning. Holsinger is charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a child. She’s scheduled to appear in Town of Carrollton Court on August 11. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947

Two Arrested on Drug Charges

After finding $500 worth of crack cocaine in a Salamanca home, the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force arrested a man who lives there and a Limestone resident. The task force says the warrant executed at 12:30 this morning on Quilter Avenue netted about 5 grams of crack and about $600 in cash, along with scales and paraphernalia. 32-year-old Cain McKnight of Salamanca is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance. 28-year-old Dusti Ginnery is charged with criminal sale and possession of a controlled substance, as well as criminal sale of marijuana. Relay for Life Underway

Members of the "Will's Warriors" Relay for Life team are some of the hundreds of people raising money for the American Cancer Society today during the annual relay at Pitt-Bradford. Anyone can stop by to partake of the food court, enter to win prizes or just support the participants. As for Will's Warriors -- They are relaying for 10-year-old Will Cross Jr., who is battling cancer. A benefit for Will and his family starts at noon Sunday at the American Legion in Limestone. It includes a chicken barbecue dinner with baked beans, salad, roll, salt potatoes for $8. Take outs are available. They will also have live bands all day, drawings and more. Bradford Counterfeiter Pleads Guilty

The Bradford man who made counterfeit $20 bills and passed $400 off as real money has pleaded guilty. 30-year-old Shad Gutshall was charged after police found the counterfeiting operation while executing a search warrant in connection to a double murder and suicide in Limestone. Gutshall’s co-defendant, 38-year-old Elizabeth Skok, was sentenced in March to 60 days to 23 ½ months in McKean County Jail. Prosecutors say the pair conspired with Daniel Podolski in the counterfeiting scheme. Podoloski is the man who killed his estranged wife and her friend, and then shot himself back in January. Alleged Burglary Ring Member Waives Hearing

The last member of a McKean County burglary ring run by Garrett Hoy of Smethport has waived his preliminary hearings in that case and another. 20-year-old Austin Tankersley is accused of being part of the ring that stole dirt bikes, ATVs and chainsaws from several locations in the county and then sold them in Cattaraugus, Chautauqua and Warren counties. According to court papers Tankersley, using an assumed name, sold a four-wheeler to Parts-R-Us in Limestone. The owner then saw the four-wheeler online and learned that it had been stolen. He searched Tankersley’s phone number, got his real name and contacted police. In another case from a couple of weeks ago, police saw Tankersley behind the wheel of a car that was parked near Main and Mechanic streets in Bradford, knowing that he didn’t have a driver’s license. When a passing police officer said something to him he said, “I’m not driving and please don’t ruin my day.” When the officer turned around and drove back to Tankersley, he r...

Limestone Drunk Speeder Pleads Guilty

A Limestone man who was driving drunk at more than 100 mph with a child in his car has pleaded guilty in Cattaraugus County Court. 32-year-old Donald Watson Jr. was driving at 127 mph in the Town of Carrollton on November 10 of last year with a blood alcohol content nearly twice the legal limit. He had a child younger than 15 with him, which made it a Leandra’s Law violation. Watson also pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance for possessing and selling a narcotic drug on July 19, 2012, in Salamanca. He is scheduled for sentencing on September 15. Not Guilty Plea in Shaken Baby Case

The Bradford woman accused of causing serious injuries to a 19-month-old girl has pleaded not guilty in Cattaraugus County Court. 22-year-old Jessica Courteau is charged with assault, reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child in connection to an incident in Limestone. Back in February the child was taken to the hospital with unexplained head trauma. Medical staff at Women and Children’s Hospital in Buffalo determined the trauma was mostly likely due to shaking.
