Northwest Savings Donates to United Way

Northwest Savings Bank recently gave $7,500 to the United Way of the Bradford Area. The donation will be added to the United Way’s funds, which are distributed to local community organizations for the purpose of community building and enhancing the quality of life in the greater Bradford area. Twenty-nine agencies and 51 programs and services receive funding from the organization’s annual appeal, which runs from August 15 through December 15. This year’s goal is to raise $345,000. In presenting the donation, Steve Cottillion, manager of the Bradford West Washington Street Office of Northwest Savings Bank and member of the Board of Directors of the United Way of the Bradford Area, said, “We (Northwest) recognize the importance of supporting the United Way because it helps to build a stronger community. United Way Reaches Goal

The United Way of the Bradford Area, Inc. announced today that the organization has reached 100% of its $330,000 goal. The local staff, campaign volunteers and board of directors are extremely grateful to the Bradford community. “We are so excited to have reached goal right before Christmas. Local community members, businesses, and corporations showed the true meaning of generosity during this campaign, stepping up to increase their pledges. This is a fantastic gift to the Bradford community and its agencies that rely on United Way funding,” says Cara Costik, Community Relations Specialist. Campaign goal was reached by a record date this year, although any donations received by January 5, 2012 will also count towards this year’s campaign. United Way at 75 Percent of Goal

With only 4 days left in the United Way of the Bradford Area, Inc.’s annual appeal, the organization announced today that it has raised 75% of its $330,000 goal. The campaign officially closes on December 15, but the organization’s staff will continue to accept donations until January 5, 2013. “Last year at this time, the appeal was at approximately 80% of goal. We truly need the entire community’s support to reach $330,000 and ensure that agencies can still receive the funding they need to continue services,” United Way Board President Vonda Reese said. “It doesn’t matter what you give, just that you give and invest in your fellow neighbor, especially during this holiday time.” As always, United Way is stressing to the community the policy and practice of keeping 100% of the donations local. “We are committed to working to make sure we use every donor dollar to do the most good in the greater Bradford area,” said Executive Director Megan Minich. United Way of the Bradford Area has made its second thermometer posting of 2012-2013 Campaign: LIVE UNITED, announcing that the organization is currently at 30% of the $330,000 goal. “We’ve had a successful business solicitation period with 6 new business donors contributing to this campaign. The new support of those businesses along with 39 new individual donors is a testament to our community members who are invested our community’s future,” stated Executive Director, Megan Minich. United Way 2012 Campaign Begins

United Way of the Bradford Area’s 2012 appeal has officially begun, with a theme of “Live United.” Chairing this year’s campaign are Steve Cottillion of Northwest Savings Bank, Christine Minich of Zippo Manufacturing Company, and Karen Costello-Pecht of Control Chief Corporation. “With the community behind the United Way, we believe we can accomplish anything. Karen, Chris and I look forward to working with our wonderful and caring community to help everyone Live United!” said Cottillion. The annual campaign, which runs from August 15 through December 15, has a goal of securing pledges from the community through workplace campaigns and individual contributions that benefit the local United Way’s 18 affiliated agencies and 39 programs in the areas of education, income, health and rebuilding lives. The United Way of the Bradford Area, Inc. announced today the final results for its 2011 Campaign: Live United and Lend a Helping Hand. With a campaign goal of $325,000, organization officials announced the final amount raised at $328,730. “We are so proud and appreciative of the Bradford community for stepping in to achieve this goal,” says Executive Director Megan Minich. “We are ecstatic with the total raised during this campaign season. United Way of the Bradford Area’s 2011 appeal has officially begun, with a theme of “LIVE UNITED and Lend a Helping Hand.” Chairing this year’s campaign are Steve Cottillion of Northwest Savings Bank, Chris Minich of Zippo Manufacturing Company, and Karen Costello-Pecht of Control Chief Corporation. “Going with the United Way Worldwide ‘LIVE UNITED’ theme is so timely this year as we work to show that we are all interconnected.
