A Kill Buck woman is accused of selling crack cocaine. The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force say 29-year-old Leah Thomas sold the crack in Great Valley in January. She’s charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance. Also, the task force picked up 33-year-old Jermaine Bordeaux of Buffalo on a parole warrant. A driver who lost control of his vehicle and ended up in a front yard is accused of texting while driving. Sheriff’s deputies say 35-year-old Carl Simons Jr. of Kill Buck was texting Tuesday night when his vehicle went off North Authority Road in Kill Buck, crossed a ditch and ended up in a front yard. They say Simons also had two controlled substances with him. He was sent to Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $1,500 bail. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947

Three people are accused of trespassing on railroad property and trying to interfere with railroad employees. Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s deputies say 54-year-old Molly Griner, 57-year-old David Case Sr. and 29-year-old Claude Case III were on Western New York-Pennsylvania Railroad property on School Street in Kill Buck at around 10:30 p.m. on October 2, and tried to interfere with the employees who were doing maintenance on the tracks. A tractor-trailer and three other vehicles were involved in a crash Monday afternoon on Route 417 in Kill Buck. Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s deputies say a car driven by 22-year-old William Pavlicin of Greenville, New York, was waiting to make a left turn when the tractor-trailer driven by 57-year-old Jaymie Smith of Odessa, New York, rear-ended it, and sent it into oncoming traffic, where it collided with a vehicle driven by 42-year-old Brian Aleo of Hudson, New York. Aleo’s vehicle spun around and hit a vehicle that was parked at Mikey’s Emporium. Aleo was taken to Olean General Hospital for treatment of his injuries. No one else was hurt. A Salamanca woman was sent to jail early this morning after refusing to leave the Pyramid Inn in Kill Buck after last call. Sheriff’s deputies say 26-year-old Samantha Miller got physically aggressive with an employee who was trying to escort her out of the building at about 2:30 a.m. Miller is charged with trespassing. A Kill Buck man is accused of having heroin on Route 417 in the Town of Carrollton. The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force arrested 23-year-old William Rodriguez Thursday night after he was found with the heroin during a traffic stop. Rodriguez is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and is due back in court on November 25. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947

Two Kill Buck residents are in Cattaraugus County Jail for having heroin and crack cocaine with the intent to sell it. The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force arrested 43-year-old Maria Jimerson and 49-year-old Terrance Smith after they found the drugs at their home while executing a search warrant this morning. A crash on Route 417 in Great Valley led to charges against a Kill Buck man. Sheriff’s deputies say 23-year-old Jonathan Pierce crashed his vehicle at about 2:30 a.m. on June 14. He was taken by ambulance to Olean General Hospital for treatment of a large cut on his forehead. Following their investigation, deputies charged Pierce with DWI and issued him several traffic citations. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947

A Kill Buck man has pleaded guilty to trying to have sex with a young girl until she was 14. 45-year-old Kenneth Crawford attempted to subject the child to sexual contact numerous times from 1996 through 2003, according to the Cattaraugus County district attorney’s office. A Kill Buck man has been sentenced to 30 days in jail for sending pornographic pictures to a teenage girl and offering to pay her for sex. 40-year-old Frederick Mix was charged with disseminating indecent material to a minor, promoting prostitution and endangering the welfare of a child. In November and December of last year, and January of this year, Mix electronically sent sexually explicit and pornographic pictures to a 16-year-old girl. A Kill Buck man, who is a registered out-of-state sex offender, is facing charges for giving sheriff's deputies several false names while they were investigating him for animal cruelty. 28-year-old Thomas Bower Jr. was fingerprinted, and that's when deputies learned he was wanted by the Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, sheriff's department for failing to give communitiy notification and failure to appear in person for periodic registration as a felony sex offender. Bower is being held in Cattaraugus County Jail awaiting extradition to Louisiana.

A Kill Buck man is accused of having sex with a girl from the time she was 4 years old until she was 14. 44-year-old Kenneth Crawford is charged with sexual abuse and other felonies. Sheriff’s deputies say the sexual abuse started in 1994 and continued until 2004. He allegedly had sex with the child 14 different times. Crawford was released on his own recognizance following his arraignment, and is scheduled to appear in Redhouse Town Court. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947

A Limestone woman remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition after being burned in a house fire early Sunday morning. 58-year-old Renay Manley is being treated at ECMC. She was pulled from the burning house by her son and another person. Firefighters say the fire on Parkside Drive was reported at just before 5 a.m., and the house was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived. A dog died in the blaze. At least 30 firefighters from Limestone, Allegany, Kill Buck and Derrick City were on the scene. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947

Someone robbed Hoag’s Smoke Shop in Kill Buck at gunpoint at just before 9 o’clock last night and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. Sheriff’s deputies say a man wearing a bandana that was covering his face entered the store, approached an employee, displayed a gun and demanded money. The suspect is about 6 feet tall and slender. He was wearing dark-colored pants and a black sweatshirt. A Kill Buck woman is in jail for allegedly endangering the welfare of a six-month-old baby early Wednesday morning. Sheriff’s deputies say Judy Redeye, who just turned 18 last weekend, was drunk and out of control at 1:40 a.m. when she was throwing items in her home, some of them in the area of the baby. Redeye was sent to jail on $250 bail.

Three men are charged with stealing hundreds of pounds of copper from a lumber yard in Great Valley. Sheriff’s deputies say they saw a vehicle owned by 36-year-old Jason Dille of Great Valley at Donver’s Lumber Yard in the early morning hours of Thursday. Their investigation determined that Dille, along with 31-year-old Richard Farnham Jr. of Kill Buck and 27-year-old Douglas Reed of Great Valley stole several hundred pounds of copper, which was found at the lumber yard and at a home in Great Valley. Dille and Farnham were sent to jail on $1,000 bail each. Reed was jailed on $10,000 bail. Deputies say more arrests are likely.

A Kill Buck woman and her son have been arrested on drug charges following a yearlong investigation by the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force. 41-year-old Maria Jimerson is charged with criminal possession of heroin. 21-year-old William Rodrieguez is charged with possession of hypodermic instruments and unlawful possession of marijuana. At the time of arrest, Rodriguez was allegedly found with narcotics and was also charged with criminal possession and sale of a controlled substance. They were both taken to Cattaraugus County Jail.

An Olean man has pleaded guilty to impersonating a firefighter. 31-year-old Bradley Thomas claimed to be a firefighter during the blaze that destroyed the former Fancher Furniture building in Salamanca in May. Thomas was wearing a helmet from the Kill Buck Fire Department and a jacket and airpack from the Salamanca Fire Department when he was arrested. He told police he was a Machias firefighter.

The Kill Buck man accused of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend last month, is now accused of raping the woman, too. 37-year-old Vernon Botsford is accused of kidnapping his 29-year-old ex-girlfriend, from her Farmington, New York home at knifepoint while her 10-year-old daughter slept nearby. The next morning they stopped at Punxsutawney Area Hospital because the woman’s wrist was cut in the struggle and she needed treatment. At the hospital, she told the staff she had been kidnapped. Botsford was captured shortly after that. New court documents show that Botsford is accused of raping the woman a few days before the kidnapping. The Kill Buck man who was arrested in Punxsutawney on Tuesday on kidnapping charges has been extradited to Cattaraugus County. Vernon Botsford is accused of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend, 29-year-old Jessica Gonzalez, from her Farmington, New York home. Before the alleged kidnapping, Botsford reportedly visited hardware stores to pick up rope, duct tape and a knife. As we reported Wednesday, Botsford is accused of kidnapping Gonzalez at knifepoint Monday night. They made their way to Punxsutawney at around 5 o’clock Tuesday morning, and went to Punxsutawney Area Hospital because Gonzalez had cut her wrist in the initial struggle and needed treatment. At the hospital, Gonzalez told the staff she had been kidnapped. Botsford was captured near Punxsutawney High School. He’s jailed on $100,000 bail. In May of 2009, Botsford was sentenced to a year in jail for chasing his girlfriend around her house with a kitchen knife.
