Men Involved in Sheetz Fight Appear in Court

Three of four people involved in a fight that started at the Port Allegany Sheetz in September have entered pleas in McKean County Court. 25-year-old Kyle Bonneau of Roulette, who was stabbed in the fight, pleaded no contest to simple assault and disorderly conduct. 27-year-old Christopher Taylor of Port Allegany pleaded guilty to DUI. 18-year-old Triston Duell of Coudersport pleaded guilty to harassment. Duell was fined $100 and ordered to have no contact with Bonneau. Taylor and Bonneau are both scheduled for sentencing in March. A hearing for the fourth man, 36-year-old Antwan Cunningham of Coudersport, who is accused of stabbing Bonneau, has been moved to February 19. The fight started at about 4:30 a.m. on September 21 in the Sheetz parking lot, and later continued at the intersection of Arnold Avenue and North Main Street. Man Accused of Endangering Child

A Roulette man is accusing of endangering the welfare of a child. Police charged 41-year-old Marvin Caskey III on Tuesday in connection to an incident that happened August 1 in Roulette. Two of the men involved in a fight near Sheetz in Port Allegany back in September have waived their preliminary hearings. 25-year-old Kyle Bonneau of Roulette, whose stab wounds required surgery, is charged with aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person and related offenses for allegedly punching 36-year-old Antwan Cunningham of Coudersport in the face until he was unconscious. 26-year-old Christopher Taylor of Port Allegany, who was with Bonneau, is charged with aggravated assault as well. Both men are free on unsecured bail. Charges against Cunningham and 18-year-old Triston Duell, also of Coudersport, were bound to McKean County Court following preliminary hearings. Port Stabbing Victim Charged With Assault

The man who was stabbed during an incident near Sheetz in Port Allegany, and another man, are now facing charges. 25-year-old Kyle Bonneau of Roulette is charged with aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person and related offenses in connection to the September 21 incident that left him with several stab wounds that required surgery. Court papers say he and 36-year-old Antwan Cunningham of Coudersport got into a fight and while Cunningham was stabbing Bonneau, Bonneau punched Cunningham in the face until he was unconscious. He had cuts on his cheek, lip and wrist, a black eye and at least two missing teeth. 26-year-old Christopher Taylor of Port Allegany, who was with Bonneau, is charged with aggravated assault as well. 18-year-old Triston Duell of Coudersport, who was with Cunningham, is also charged with aggravated assault. Cunningham is in McKean County Jail on $75,000 bail. Bonneau is free on $75,000 bail. Taylor and Duell are each free on $20,000 bail. All four ...

Cooler of Coolers Stolen

In one of the most tragic stories of the day: a cooler full of wine coolers has been stolen off a front porch in Potter County. State police say the incident happened between August 9 and Saturday when some took the blue cooler off Dawn Kent’s porch on North Street in Roulette. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact state police. (Anyone who is offended by my calling this story “tragic” needs to lighten up.) Fire in Liberty Township This Morning

Firefighters were called to a house fire on Pleasant Drive in Liberty Township early this morning. Star Hose Company firefighters say the driveway was softened by rain and made access to the house difficult. They had to hand stretch 900 feet of 3-inch line for a leader line to put out the fire. Port Allegany, Smethport, Eldred Borough and Roulette firefighters were on the scene for about three hours. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947

Burglary, Criminal Mischief in Potter County

Police are investigating a burglary and several acts of criminal mischief in Potter County. They say sometime between December 12 and Friday someone broke into Robert Evans’ hunting camp and stole numerous DVDs, fireworks, a machete, a circular saw and a chain saw. The camp is on Wright Road in Hector Township. Between January 26 and Saturday someone shot a BB gun at Ronald Bush’s camp in Oswayo. Between October 1 and Friday someone damaged maple syrup signs on property belonging to Terry Stanley on a private road near Dry Run Creek. Sometime between 9 o’clock Saturday night and 7 o’clock Sunday morning someone cut down a sign belonging to James Baker on Fishing Creek Road in Roulette Township. Roulette Man Charged with Indecent Assault

A Roulette man is accused of indecent assault against a child younger than 13. 25-year-old Paul Bethlehem is also charged with corruption of minors and harassment in connection to the alleged incident that happened on the afternoon of March 13 at a home in Roulette Township. Burglaries at Friendly Inn

Roulette’s Friendly Inn has been burglarized again. The first burglary was between 1:25 and 3:50 Wednesday morning when bottles of alcohol were taken. Sometime after 2:36 Saturday morning someone broke into the establishment and stole an undetermined amount of money. Also in Roulette Township someone entered the home of Justin Fillhart between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. Thursday and stole copper piping. And in Austin in Potter County someone entered a home on School Street over the weekend and stole a bed and nightstand. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947

Man Pleads Guilty to Bar Fight

A man has pleaded guilty to assaulting people in a bar fight back in April. 28-year-old David Darush of Roulette head-butted one man and punched another in the face at Shooters Bar in Port Allegany. He also knocked another man off a bar stool. Darush is scheduled for sentencing on August 22. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947

Girl Hurt after ATV Hits Dog

A 14-year-old girl had to be flown to a Buffalo hospital after the ATV she was driving hit a dog last Thursday evening. Police say the girl was operating the ATV on Main Street in Roulette at about 7:15 p.m. when the small dog entered the road. After hitting the dog, she lost control of the ATV and was thrown from it as it flipped over. She was taken by Mercy Flight to Women and Children’s Hospital for treatment of her injuries. Woman is Victim of Modeling Scam

Police are looking for the person or people who told a Roulette woman they ran a modeling agency and convinced her to send money for a photo session. Bar Fight Lands Man in Jail

A bar fight landed a Roulette man in jail. 28-year-old David Darush is accused of head-butting one man and punching another in the face last Friday at Shooters Bar in Port Allegany. Man Jailed for Hitting 4-Year-Old

A Roulette man is in jail after allegedly hitting and injuring a 4-year-old. 43-year-old Michael Roberts was arrested on Friday and charged with simple assault, endangering the welfare of a child and harassment. Police say Potter County Children and Youth Services contacted them saying the child had visible injuries to his leg and buttocks. The investigation is continuing. Wind Downs Several Trees

UPDATE 2: Trees were also down on Interstate Parkway, East Corydon and Congress streets, also near the Pennhills Club and on Niles Hollow. A transformer fire on East Corydon also knocked out power to several customers. As of 11:20 p.m. about 400 Penelec customers in McKean, Potter, Cameron and Elk counties are without power. (Does not include non-Penelec customeers). More than 700 customers in Warren County have no power. More than 11,000 in Cattaraugus and Allegany counties are without power. ~~~ UPDATE: Power outages were also reported in Kane and Mount Jewett. A tree is blocking Route 155 near Sizerville State Park. Roulette Man Killed in Crash

A Roulette man is dead following a crash between a pickup truck and a tractor trailer Wednesday night. State Police say 73-year-old Gordon Cotter was at the intersection of Route 6 and Main Street in Roulette Township at around 8 o’clock when a tractor trailer attempting to turn around at the intersection hit the pickup. Cotter was pronounced dead at the scene. The tractor-trailer driver, 72-year-old Kenneth Scott of Chase City, Virginia, was not hurt. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947

10th Annual Senior Expo is August 3

Rep. Martin Causer (R-Turtlepoint) will host the 10th Annual Senior Citizens Expo on Friday, Aug. 3, at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Sports and Fitness Building gymnasium. The free event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and lunch will be provided. “There are many programs and services available to help senior citizens and their caregivers, but it can be difficult and time-consuming to track down all of the necessary information,” Causer said. “The expo makes it easier and more convenient by bringing service providers and senior citizens together in one place. “I encourage people to come out and take advantage of this opportunity,” he added. State, county and local vendors will be on hand to distribute information and answer questions. Three Picked Up for Having Bath Salts

Two men and a woman are accused of having bath salts in Roulette on Wednesday afternoon. State police say agents from the state parole board asked them to go to 48 River Street, where they found 21-year-old Kimberly Bisher and 19-year-old Gabriel Weinberg, both of Roulette, and 22-year-old Robert Hamilton II of Port Allegany with suspected bath salts and drug paraphernalia. Hamilton was taken to Potter County Jail on a parole violation. Weinberg was taken into custody by the McKean County Probation Department. Bisher was taken by ambulance to Charles Cole Memorial Hospital. Hamilton is charged with felony count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. He and the others are also charged with misdemeanor drug law violations. Hamilton is in Potter County Jail on $20,000 bail. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947

Car Crashes at Moose Club

Police are investigating a crash at around noon Sunday outside the Moose Club in Emporium. They say a car driven by 51-year-old Katherine Huggler of Roulette was traveling on Route 120 at 11:55 a.m. when it went off the road and hit the poles on the outside of the Moose Club overhang. The car then hit the utility pole on the north side of the road. Police said the car had major damage. Huggler and a passenger suffered unspecified injuries.
