Date Set for St. Marys Murder Trial

A St. Marys man charged with the stabbing death of another man is scheduled to go to trial in June. 67-year-old Edward Kralik is charged with killing 50-year-old Clayton Lecker of St. Marys on June 12, 2010. Jury selection is scheduled for June 13. Police say Lecker died of a single stab wound to the abdomen during an altercation with Kralick.

Kralik Hearing Continued

The preliminary hearing for a man accused of killing a St. Marys man on June 12 has been continued until August. 67-year-old Edward Kralik Jr., also of St. Marys, is charged with criminal homicide and aggravated assault for the stabbing death of 50-year-old Clayton Lecker. During his arraignment last week, Kralik said the incident was an accident and he’ll prove it. Kralik and Lecker were in a fight when Lecker was stabbed. Kralik was treated for his injuries at Hamot Medical Center. Kralik is in jail without bail.

Kralik Now Jailed for Elk County Homicide

St. Marys police have arrested 67-year-old Edward Kralik Jr. of St. Marys for criminal homicide, aggravated assault and possessing implements of a crime in connection with the death of 50-year-old Clayton Lecker. In a fax sent to WESB and The HERO, police say Lecker died of a single stab wound to the abdomen on Saturday on Robin Road during an altercation with Kralick. Kralik was flown to Hamot Medical Center in Erie for the injuries he received in the fight. Today, St. Marys Police served an arrest warrant on Kralik in Erie and returned him to Elk County, where he was arraigned by District Judge George “Tony” King and sent to Elk County Jail pending further court action. City police were assisted by the state police forensic unit as well as criminal investigators from Troop C, the Erie City Police Department, Elk County District Attorney’s Office, Elk County Coroner, St. Marys Ambulance Service, Elk County Emergency Management Agency and the Crystal Fire Deparatment.

Arrest Made in St. Marys Stabbing

A man has been arrested for the fatal stabbing of 50-year-old Clayton Lecker of St. Marys over the weekend. Edward Kralick Jr. has been charged with criminal homicide and aggravated assault, according to papers filed in District Judge Donald Wilhelm’s office. Police say 50-year-old Clayton Lecker died sometime between 10:30 and 11:45 Saturday morning of stab wounds to the abdomen. He was found in a garage across from a trailer park on Robin Road. He owned both the trailer park and garage.
