03/15/08 - Dodsworth Likely Going to FCI McKean
The business partner of former Bradford landlord Frank Kartesz is likely to spend his time in prison at F-C-I McKean. Robert Dodsworth was sentenced Friday to six years and four months in federal prison for his part in a mortgage-fraud scheme. He is expected to report to U.S. marshals on June 16, and is free on bond until then. The FBI, Internal Revenue Service and other agencies have been investigating the mortgage-fraud case since 2004. Federal officials said victims lost more than $1 million between 2003 and 2006. As part of his sentence, Dodsworth was also ordered to pay a $50,000 fine and $57,365 in restitution to lending institutions affected by the scam. Dodsworth was not ordered to pay restitution to individual homeowners. The government said restitution for those victims is nearly impossible to award.Kartesz had been expected to plead guilty last month, but that hearing was postponed and has not been rescheduled yet.

03/15/08 - Arrest Made for Corry Bomb Threat
Corry police have arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with a bomb threat at Corry Area High School in February. Police said they arrested Justin Carlson, after he turned himself in on Friday.About 1,200 Corry students were sent home shortly at around 11 a.m. on Feb. 27, after a student reported a bomb threat scrawled on a restroom wall. A police search failed to turn up a bomb, but the school was locked down for about 6 hours. Carlson is free on $10,000 unsecured bond.

03/16/07 - Man Charged with Assault, Jailed
New York State Police on Saturday arrested a man wanted in Illinois for violating his probation on a murder charge. 42-year-old George A. Maybee, was arrested in Salamanca and is being held without bail in the Cattaraugus County Jail. State police and marshals from the Seneca Nation of Indians charged Maybee in a Saturday assault on Tracey Dunlap in Perrysburg. She was treated for facial injuries at Lakeshore Hospital and was later released. The attack took place on Indian Hill Road on the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation.
