Hermann Joins CCMH Staff

Dr. Steven Herrmann, M.D., Ph.D., F.A.C.C., F.A.S.E., joined the medical staff at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital September 19. Dr. Herrmann is director of the Heart Center at Bradford Regional Medical Center, an affiliate of the Hamot Medical Center’s Hamot Heart Institute.

As the eastern region medical director of the Hamot Heart Institute, Dr. Herrmann will continue his practice at BRMC and expand cardiology services to CCMH where he will join Dr. Howard Miller, Dr. Syed Bhat, and Dr. Halbert Feinberg, a board certified cardiologist associated with the Arnot Ogden Health System in Corning, NY. Dr. Herrmann earned a Ph.D. in cardiovascular physiology and biophysics at the University of Washington and a medical degree at St. Louis University, where he also completed an internship and residency in internal medicine and fellowships in cardiovascular diseases and interventional cardiology. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, adult echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology. He is a member of the Missouri Chapter of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and the Pennsylvania Medical Society, and an American College of Cardiology and American Society of Echocardiography fellow.

Prior to joining BRMC’s medical staff in 2006, Dr. Herrmann served as director of cardiac rehabilitation services and inpatient cardiovascular medicine at St. Louis University where he also was an assistant professor; he continues to serve as an adjunct assistant professor of physiology and pharmacology.
While at St. Louis University, he was the principal investigator for the National Institute of Health WARCEF Study. He has received numerous awards for his work including Best Doctors in America (cardiology) in 2005-06 and 2007-08, Top Doctors in St. Louis (cardiovascular medicine) in 2005, Who’s Who of Medical Education in the USA in 2005, and several teaching awards at St. Louis University. He has authored various abstracts, peer reviewed publications, and text book chapters. His most recent work, on cardiac structure and physiology, was published this year by McGraw Hill.

Dr. Herrmann lives in Bradford with his wife and daughter.
