HAZMAT Team Called to Crash Site

Route 60 in the Town of Charlotte was closed for just over two hours earlier today when a tractor-trailer went out of control due to wintry road conditions and blocked both lanes of traffic.

A HAZMAT team was also called in because the rig was leaking diesel fuel.

Sheriff's deputies say the driver, 50-year-old Kevin McKelvey of Rockaway Park, New York, was taken to WCA Hospital in Jamestown with minor injuries.

No charges have been filed.

Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
