Bradford Man Wants to
Install Floor at White House

President Barack Obama is making a couple of changes to the White House, and one of them will be installation of a basketball court/gym floor.

Mark Pessia of The Carpet Store on East Washington Street told Bill O'Reilly this afternoon on "The Radio Factor" that he'd be willing to do that.

O'Reilly told Pessia Obama would be "very smart to hire a guy like you, in Bradford, Pennsylvania, who's trying to make it, to install that floor."

O'Reilly suggested that Pessia send a registered letter to Senior White House adviser David Axelrod telling him that he (Pessia) is a small businessman, trying his hardest and he'd like to put in that floor.

He also suggested that Pessia's letter say "I'll donate my services to my country. So, how 'bout it?"

O'Reilly said Pessia has a "one in 100 chance – but it's a chance." (Later, he said it's probably a one in 1,000 chance but "what does he have to lose?")

Pessia says he'll let WESB and The HERO know if he gets a response from Axelrod.

He called "The Radio Factor" to talk about the economy, and how hard it is to keep his business operating in the current climate. Pessia said he's the number three flooring business in the city.

O'Reilly told him "in order for you to prosper, you have to work harder and cheaper than one and two. … It's a matter of marketing."

Pessia said installing the gym floor at the White House is one of his ideas to market his business.

"That's the kind of creative thinking we're all going to have to do … to get through the recession," O'Reilly said.

"I can tell from his voice he's a hard-working guy who just wants to succeed and do right by his town, his family and his country," O'Reilly said.

"Axelrod's smart enough to see what a great PR bonanza that would be," O'Reilly said.
