Former State Sen. Vincent J. Fumo acknowledged yesterday that he got $63,000 in tools and other items paid for by the South Philadelphia nonprofit organization he founded.
The once-powerful Democrat told jurors in his trial on corruption charges that he deserved the goods for raising millions in private money for the nonprofit and because he essentially served as its executive director.
