This Week's Big 30 Selections:

Six area seniors have been named to the Don Raabe Big 30 All Star Football Charity Classic August 1 at Bradford’s Parkway Field.

Pennsylvania:

Nick Dangelo, Kane Area High School

6’ 210 lbs. Center and Defensive tackle

Nick was a 2008 Allegany Mountain League all-star.

Nicks biggest thrill while playing football was winning the 2007 District 9 Championship. He is also thrilled to be representing his home town and school this year in the Big 30 game.

Casey Graffius, Bradford Area High School

6’ 195lbs. Center/Guard and Middle Linebacker

Casey Plans to attend Alfred University and play football. Casey was a 2 year letterman for Bradford High, District IX Region 6 All-star Bradford High Unsung Hero and One of the Captains of the team. Casey noted that this will be his last game at Parkway Field and also the last game he will play with Steve Reinhart and Mike Pascarella. Casey’s biggest thrill was throwing a block that scored a touchdown to tie Meadville which led to a victory.

Damen Brodhun, Port Allegany School

5’11” 189lbs. Guard and Defensive End/Linebacker

Damen plans to attend Penn State Dubois, majoring in Wildlife Technology. Damen was an Allegany Mountain League All-star for the Northern Division, 6 time Allegany Mountain Wrestling League Champ. A District runner-up in wrestling. Damen said “After being offered the opportunity to play in the Big 30 game I thought it would be a great experience before heading off to college.” Damens biggest thrill was coming so close to beating Cameron County with our very young and under manned team.

New York:

Jake O’Brien, Ellicottville Central School

5’11” 195lbs. Fullback, Outside Linebacker

Jake will be attending Niagara County Community College to pursue a Criminal Justice career. Jake was selected to the 1st team all-league football and baseball teams. Jake was asked why he wanted to play in the Big 30 Game and he said “ For the love of the game. I have wanted this since I started playing high school football.” Jakes biggest thrill was playing in Section 6 final at Ralph Wilson stadium his freshman year.

Nick Sosnowski, Portville Central School

6’2” 225lbs. Played tackle both ways.

Nick will attend Alfred State majoring in Maintenance Electrician. Nick has been awarded the Chuck Nellis Sportsmanship award for Hockey, Football JV defensive MVP, Hoppy Caya Memorial Homecoming MVP, Portville football Lineman of the Year. Nick stated “It’s been a goal of mine since my freshman year. I love football and want to continue playing. Nick’s biggest thrill while playing football was; “The last game of my sophomore season I started in my 1st varsity game at center. We defeated Cattaraugus-Little valley 30-6. They were undefeated until that game”

Jeremy Elliot, Archbishop Walsh High School

5’10” 180lbs. Running Back, Middle Linebacker

Jeremy plans on going to college to play football and earn a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was the captain of the football team, Offensive MVP, Team MVP, 1,000 yard rusher in 07-08 seasons, was selected to MMH all-stars offensive 1st team. Jeremy loves to play football and likes the competition. Jeremy’s biggest thrill is when he is running the ball or getting ready to make a big hit on defense.
