Cops: Man Hit Tombstones, Lied
A Linesville man is accused of crashing a car into tombstones then lying to police about it.
Police say a car driven by 22-year-old David Townsend hit seven tombstones in St. Philip Roman Catholic Cemetery in Linesville sometime between 1:45 and 3 a.m. Thursday.
Townsend allegedly told police someone stole his car.
He's been charged with making false reports to law enforcement, failing to drive a vehicle at safe speed, careless driving, accidents involving damage to unattended property and failure to immediately report an accident.
