PNC May Have Buyer for Branches

First Niagara Financial Group Inc of Lockport, N.Y., may buy several branches of National City Bank.

Before PNC Financial services could acquire National City, the federal government ordered the company to sell 61 branches to keep it from becoming dominant in some markets.

PNC is attempting to sell six branches in Erie County, four in Crawford County and the Second Avenue branch in Warren. The Bradford branches are not expected to be affected.
