Local Reps Attend Gun Rights Rally

HARRISBURG -Less than one week after Gov. Rendell reissued his demands for several overwhelmingly defeated gun control proposals, Reps. Martin Causer (R-Turtlepoint), Matt Gabler (R-DuBois), Donna Oberlander (R-Clarion) and Kathy Rapp (R-Warren) today joined with hundreds of Pennsylvania gun owners and outdoorsmen in the state Capitol rotunda for the Fourth Annual Right to Keep and Bear Arms Rally.

"Every gun owner who made the time to journey to the state Capitol today has done his or her part in putting the governor and any other lawmakers who hide behind tragedy to advance their ineffective and unconstitutional gun control agendas on notice," said Rapp. "You have no authority whatsoever to criminalize our Second Amendment right to defend our lives, families and properties with a firearm whenever necessary. Any time overkill gun control or confiscation legislation comes before the Pennsylvania House, Warren, Forest and McKean county residents can count on me to cast a vote that directly reflects Article 1, Section 21 of our state constitution which clearly confirms: 'The right of citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the state shall not be questioned.'"

"It is important for Pennsylvanians to come together every year to reaffirm their rights to keep and bear arms in order to defend themselves and protect public safety," Causer said. "As much as some would like to believe otherwise, stricter gun control laws will not stop people who don't abide by the law from misusing guns. What we need are laws that ensure law-abiding citizens have the right to defend themselves and ensure criminals who obtain or use guns illegally will be prosecuted."

Featured speakers at today's rally included nationally recognized Second Amendment defense attorney and best-selling author Stephen Halbrook; Larry Pratt, executive director, Gun Owners of America; John Sigler, president, National Rifle Association; and Kim Stolfer, chairman, Firearms Owners Against Crime.

"The 'right to keep and bear arms,' isn't confusing or even ambiguous," said Oberlander. "It is a guaranteed liberty that is not subject to any gun-grabbing governor or lawmaker's personal interpretation. Gun ownership is also not a special limited right for hunters and collectors. In reality, the Second Amendment is every law-abiding citizen's last safeguard against tyranny. Politicians simply don't have the luxury or authority to alter the crystal clear intent of both our state and federal constitutions."

"We must make every effort to stand up for our way of life against attempted assaults on our rights by big city politicians who wish to take away our freedoms," stated Gabler. "My constituents' voice in this matter is loud and strong in demanding that their representatives fight efforts to infringe on the rights of responsible, law-abiding citizen gun owners who simply wish to exercise their ability to defend themselves. The fact remains that when you outlaw guns, you guarantee that only outlaws have guns."

See what California and a lying California attorney, Steven T. Schoonover, and flip flopper James K. Olson did here to a Nevada citizen’s right to have a gun to protect herself after James K. Olson had broken into this Nevada citizen’s home! Gun Controllers Among Us, Marin County California Courts

Most liberal Marin County Ca has repeatedly thumbed their nose at the US Constitution, then imposed their illegal actions onto a Nevada citizen. What's next?

Lying California attorney, Steven T. Schoonover had the Nevada citizen served at 7:30 Thursday evening in Nevada for a 9 am the following Monday court in California and the California incompetent judge allowed that 1 day notice although illegal as have to be served more than 10 days before a hearing and furthermore it was to a Nevada citizen!

Three strikes you’re out lying California attorney, Steven T. Schoonover
