Man Pleads to '71 Killing
A man has pleaded guilty today to a 1971 killing in Chautauqua County.
55-year-old Donald Saden, who now lives in Austin, Texas, pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of Robert Stiffler.
A Pennsylvania truck driver found Stiffler's body on January 5, 1971, in a field in the Town of Arkwright. An autopsy revealed that Stiffler died from multiple stab wounds.
Saden was 17 years old and a resident of Fredonia at the time. He was arrested at his home in Texas last August and was brought back to Chautauqua County. District Attorney David Foley hasn't provided details about what led police to Saden after all that time. He hasn't discussed a motive either.
Saden will be sentenced May 26.
