Library Wants Its Books Back

The Ulysses Library is cracking down on people with overdue books.

41-year-old Margaret Middaugh of Ulysses and 50-year-old Teresa Batterson of Galeton each have books that have been overdue since September. Police say they failed to return the books after receiving letters from the library asking that they be returned.

Adelphoi Village in Harrison Valley has two books that have been overdue since November.

Police say they will be charged with retention of library property after notice to return.

Since Governor Rendell has proposed $7.5 million in additional cuts to public libraries, I bet we'll be seeing a lot more of this.

with the economy the way it is i'm surprised more libraries aren't having this problem. "borrowing" a book from the library is way cheaper than buying one and if you know the libray isn't going to do anyting about it. heck, keep the book.

Woman Charged with Posting
Nude Picture on Facebook

A Falconer, New York, woman is facing charges after allegedly posting a naked photo of a Warren woman on Facebook. Police say 22-year-old Lindsay Head posted the picture without the consent of the 21-year-old victim, who is dating Head's ex-boyfriend. Head is charged with dispersing obscene and sexual materials. The picture has been removed from Facebook.

Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
