Seneca Gaming Breaks Ground
The Seneca Gaming Corporation broke ground today on an $8 million expansion of its temporary casino in downtown Buffalo.
The expansion will add about 5,300 square feet of gaming space to the facility and add up to 250 more slot machines.
Work on the permanent Buffalo Creek Casino was suspended last year due to the faltering economy. Today, officials said the project will eventually be completed, adding that consultants have told them the steel beams that were erected last year can be exposed to the elements for about six years before they're damaged.
The Seneca Gaming Board has no specific time line for moving forward with the permanent casino.
