Olean Man Sentenced on
Larceny, Burglary Charges

An Olean man has been sentenced to 2 to 6 years in state prison for promising to do construction work and not doing it.

Between November of 2005 and January of 2008, in Salamanca, Jeffrey Wachwitz stole more than $3,000 worth of property from one person and engaged in a scheme constituting a systematic ongoing course of conduct with intent to defraud more than one person, according to the Cattaraugus County District Attorney's office.

He was also sentenced to 2 to 6 years on a burglary charge for breaking into a Salamanca building in January of 2008. That sentence will be served at the same time as the grand larceny sentence.
