ANF Prepares for Snowmobilers

Warren, Pa. – The Allegheny National Forest announced today that final preparations for the opening of the Allegheny Snowmobile Loop (ASL) for the winter snowmobile season are nearing completion.

According to Bradford District Ranger Tony Scardina, “We are pleased to announce that all trail access issues have been resolved and the entire length of the ASL will be open when the season officially begins on December 20th.”

The ASL is a 159-mile system of snowmobile trails in portions of Warren, Forest, Elk and McKean Counties. Including connector trails and the Rocky Gap and Timberline ATV trails (dual use snowmobile/ATV trails), the entire ASL system covers over 350 miles.

The trail could open as early as December 20th if weather conditions remain favorable. Snowmobile riders interested in trail conditions can contact either the Supervisor’s Office at (814) 723-5150 or the Marienville Ranger District at (814) 927-6628. Trail conditions are also updated regularly throughout the season on the Forest website at http://www.fs.fed.us/r9/forests/allegheny/.

Woman Charged with Posting
Nude Picture on Facebook

A Falconer, New York, woman is facing charges after allegedly posting a naked photo of a Warren woman on Facebook. Police say 22-year-old Lindsay Head posted the picture without the consent of the 21-year-old victim, who is dating Head's ex-boyfriend. Head is charged with dispersing obscene and sexual materials. The picture has been removed from Facebook.

Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police also learned there was an active warrant against him from City of Jamestown Court. He was sent to Chautauqua County Jail on $1,000 bail. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947
