Report from Bradenton -- Day 7

All players and staff members had blood work done today between 7:00 and 9:00.

Many players participated in early work and meetings between 8:00 and the time the entire team took the field at 10:00.

Close to 300 fans watched as the Buccos practiced under cloudy and muggy conditions with temps in the upper 60s.

Aside from fielding drills and a 20-minute bunting fundamental, today was the first day that pitchers threw batting practice to the hitters.

The following 14 pitchers threw two “innings” of 17 pitches each: Ross Ohlendorf, Paul Maholm, Brad Lincoln, Steven Jackson, Justin Thomas, Bryan Morris, Kevin Hart, D.J. Carrasco, Donnie Veal, Virgil Vasquez, Chris Jakubauskas, Jeff Karstens, Anthony Claggett and Jack Taschner.

The non-throwing pitchers conditioned and were off the fields by 11:20.

All pitchers were off the fields by 12:45.

Position players took BP off various coaches, conditioned and were off the fields by 1:00.

Woman Charged with Posting
Nude Picture on Facebook

A Falconer, New York, woman is facing charges after allegedly posting a naked photo of a Warren woman on Facebook. Police say 22-year-old Lindsay Head posted the picture without the consent of the 21-year-old victim, who is dating Head's ex-boyfriend. Head is charged with dispersing obscene and sexual materials. The picture has been removed from Facebook.

Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police also learned there was an active warrant against him from City of Jamestown Court. He was sent to Chautauqua County Jail on $1,000 bail. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947
