This Week's Big 30 Selections:

Pennsylvania

Zach Holt, Kane Area High School

6’1” 195lbs. Tight End, Defensive End

Zach plans on going into law enforcement in the near future. Zach’s honors include two varsity letters in football and a varsity letter in basketball. Zach was asked why he would like to play in the Big 30 game and he said, “It is an honor to play in the game my father Tim and Brother Matt played in the game.” Zach’s biggest thrill came winning the District 9 Championship, and playing in a state semi-final game.

Matt Shuey, Johnsonburg High School

6’3” 240lbs. Fullback, Tight End, / Linebacker

Matt wants to attend college to pursue a teaching degree and play football. Matt’s awards include; AML All-Star, Elk County Holiday Tournament Team, Offensive MVP, and track MVP in field events. Matt said “It is a tremendous honor to be selected to play in this charity event with so many excellent athletes from N.Y. and P.A.. The causes it supports are worthwhile.” In Matt’s spare time he is a Peer Pal and a Special Olympics Athlete mentor.

Jimmy Hahn, Sheffield Area High School

6’2” 215lbs. Running back / Linebacker

Jimmy plans on attending college this fall. Jimmy was a two time District 9 honor roll student, and was selected to the AML All-Stars as a running back. Jimmy was asked why he wants to play in the Raabe classic and he said, “I have always wanted to play since I was a kid. I always knew it was a big game.”


New York

Andrew Ray, Bolivar-Richburg Central School

6’ 258lbs. Center / Nose Guard

Andrew plans on going to college and study secondary education. He would like to become a Social Studies / History teacher and given the opportunity coach football for the school. Andrew has earned honors in the National Business Honor Society, and received the Defensive MVP trophy for his last home game. Andrew was asked why he would like to play in the Big 30 game; “Knowing that it is very difficult to play college football, I look at the Big 30 game as being my final game and the chance to get a final victory.”

Bruce Doyle, Cuba-Rushford Central School

6’4” 260lbs. Tackle / Defensive End

Bruce plans on attending college majoring in Environmental Services. Bruce’s honors include 1st Team Livingston County Offensive Line the last two seasons. 1st Team Livingston Defensive Line the last two seasons Big 30 finalist for Lineman of the Year, Team MVP, Homecoming Defensive MVP. Bruce is glad he can follow in the steps of his brother who played in the game and be part of a great tradition. Bruce’s biggest thrill came playing in the Section V Class D Semifinal game.

Brian MacNeal, Ellicottville Central School Representing Hinsdale Central School

6’2” 205lbs. Quarterback / Linebacker

Brian plans on attending college in the near future. Brian has many athletic honors they include; Football -2 time All-Star, 2 Year Offensive MVP, Basketball – 3 time All-Star, 2 Year Offensive MVP and had 1000 point career, Baseball – 2 time All-Star, Offensive MVP for 2 years. Brian said “ It’s another opportunity to play a sport that I have a lot of respect for. It will be cool to play with a full team of great players. Brian’s biggest thrill is always running and passing for allot of yards.

The 37th annual “Big 30 Don Raabe charities Classic” will be played Saturday August 7, 2010 at Parkway Field, Bradford, PA, and on 1490 WESB, 100.1 The HERO and online at WESB.com.
