Criminal Mischief Near Port Allegany

Two 18-year-olds are facing charges after doing some damage in the Port Allegany area early Saturday morning.

In a fax sent to WESB and The HERO, Kane-based state police say Joshua Vangor of Smethport and Jesse Isadore of Cyclone were driving on North Open Brook Road, Pine Grove Road and Lower Grimes Road, where they hit several mailboxes with a baseball bat, causing damage.

At residence on North Open Brook Road, Isadore got out of the car and hit a metal mailbox several times with the bat. The homeowner contacted police. When the pair tried to leave the scene, Vangor accelerated too quickly, causing the car to go into a ditch.

Charges of criminal mischief are pending against Vangor and Isadore. Vangor will also be charged with summary traffic offenses.

Police are still investigating, and ask that anyone in the areas where the criminal mischief occurred contact them and reference incident # C05-1019512
