DuBois Men Arrested in Elk County

Agents from the Attorney General's Bureau of Narcotics Investigation, along with officers from the North Central Drug Task Force, St. Mary's Police Department and Pennsylvania State Police, arrested two Clearfield County men following a buy-bust operation in Elk County.
Attorney General Tom Corbett identified the defendants as Jonathon Lee Dailey, 28, of 431 Quarry Ave., DuBois and Kevin James Eckenroad, 19, of 510 N. Vine St., DuBois.

Corbett said that Dailey and Eckenroad were both arrested at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27th, after allegedly delivering 14 grams of powder cocaine during a controlled drug purchase in St. Marys, Elk County. Following their arrest, a search warrant was executed on their vehicle, resulting in the seizure of an additional 14 grams of cocaine along with a bundle of heroin. The seized drugs have an estimated street value of $3,200.

Corbett said the arrests are part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking throughout north-central Pennsylvania.

"The Office of Attorney General is dedicated to working hand-in hand with local law enforcement across the state to attack the flow of drugs into our communities," Corbett said. "We want to send a clear message to everyone involved in this illegal trade that there is no 'safe haven' for drug traffickers in Pennsylvania."

Corbett said that Dailey is charged with two counts of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to deliver cocaine, along with one count each of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to deliver heroin; possession of cocaine; possession of heroin; possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended or revoked license. He is also charged with three counts of criminal conspiracy.

Eckenroad is charged with one count each of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to deliver cocaine; manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to deliver heroin; possession of cocaine; possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. Dailey is also charged with three counts of criminal conspiracy.

Both defendants were preliminarily arraigned before St. Marys Magisterial District Judge Donald A. Wilhelm and jailed in lieu of $25,000 cash bail apiece.

Dailey and Eckenroad will be prosecuted in Elk County by Elk County District Attorney Bradley J. Kraus.

Corbett thanked the Elk County District Attorney's Office, North Central Drug Task Force, St. Mary's Police Department and Pennsylvania State Police for their cooperation and assistance with this ongoing investigation.
