Special Athletes to Compete at Penn State

Twenty-two special athletes from McKean County have been selected to compete at the Pennsylvania Special Olympics Summer Games at Penn State University, June 10-12. The McKean athletes will join more than 2,000 Special Olympians from across the state for three days of competition.

Qualifying to compete in bowling are Danyelle Trumbull, Tina Whitford and Jean Zumstein.

Track and field athletes include Charlie Barr, Kim Daniels, Justin Conner, Bailey Kinner, Ashley Peterson and David Bryan.

The swim team will consist of Andrew Wilson, Gary Stewart, Rebecca Buccolini and Stephanie Heffner.

Playing golf for McKean County will be Joe Sostakowski, George Burton and Jesse Crum.

Competing in softball individual skills will be Steve McQuone, Sharon Petitt, Robert Tubbs and T.A. Larson. Competing in basketball individual skills will be Glenn Lee and Robert McAlpine.

Selections for State Games are based on performance in training and in local and regional competitions prior to the state event. Over 360 special athletes are involved in the local program.

McKean County Special Olympics is a year-round program of sports training and competition for intellectually and physically challenged athletes.

Woman Charged with Posting
Nude Picture on Facebook

A Falconer, New York, woman is facing charges after allegedly posting a naked photo of a Warren woman on Facebook. Police say 22-year-old Lindsay Head posted the picture without the consent of the 21-year-old victim, who is dating Head's ex-boyfriend. Head is charged with dispersing obscene and sexual materials. The picture has been removed from Facebook.

Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police also learned there was an active warrant against him from City of Jamestown Court. He was sent to Chautauqua County Jail on $1,000 bail. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947
