Thompson Attending Seminar at UPB
Students from high schools throughout the Western part of the 5th Congressional District, will attend a government seminar at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford the morning of Friday, September 10, 2010. “Government Outreach 2010” is hosted by U.S. Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson, R-Howard.
The event will include a welcome from the University and a presentation on the Pitt-Bradford Experience. Two guest speakers are Larry Schardt, National Resource Conservationist with Community Partnership Resource Conservation and Development, who will speak on “The Magic in Every Moment,” and Robb Armstrong, a cartoonist who draws the comic strip, “Jump Start.” The strip runs in more than 450 newspapers in eight countries, including The Philadelphia Inquirer. He will speak on how students can achieve their goals. His talk is being sponsored by Joy Mining Machinery.
