Snow Forces Maplevale Farms to Move

Due to structural damage caused by heavy snowfall earlier this month, Maplevale Farms will be moving its Clymer, New York, food distribution center.

The roof of the loading dock at Maplevale Farms collapsed under the weight of several feet of snow on the afternoon of December 15.

The operations will move to a formerly unoccupied warehouse in Falconer. Maplevale plans to resume deliveries from the new facility on January 3, 2011.

Maplevale distributes to restaurants, healthcare provicders, schools and colleges throughout Western New York, Northwestern Pennsylvania and Northeastern Ohio.

The company will host a luncheon and tour of the new facility for its 145 employees at noon Thursday, according to a news release sent by Maplevale Farms.

This is a sad event for this company--they are in a highly competitive industry and it will be hard for them to recover from a disruption of their operations and distribution to their exisiting customer base who will no doubt be serviced by Maplevale's competition in the interim--

I don't think it will! They are a great company with great employee's and excelent customer service. They will get through this and when they do 100% of my business will be with maplevale farms!

Woman Charged with Posting
Nude Picture on Facebook

A Falconer, New York, woman is facing charges after allegedly posting a naked photo of a Warren woman on Facebook. Police say 22-year-old Lindsay Head posted the picture without the consent of the 21-year-old victim, who is dating Head's ex-boyfriend. Head is charged with dispersing obscene and sexual materials. The picture has been removed from Facebook.

Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police also learned there was an active warrant against him from City of Jamestown Court. He was sent to Chautauqua County Jail on $1,000 bail. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947
