Pitt-Bradford Names Shawn Murray
Manager of Advancement Operations

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford has named Shawn W.T. Murray the university’s new manager of advancement operations.

Murray comes to Pitt-Bradford from Futures Rehabilitation Center Inc. in Bradford, where he had been the information systems coordinator, directing and supervising all technology projects. He replaces Michelle Buchholz, who is leaving the area.

A Pitt-Bradford alumnus, Murray earned an Associate of Science in information systems from Pitt-Bradford in 1998, followed by a Bachelor of Science in business management in 2001.

At Pitt-Bradford, Murray will maintain the university’s fundraising database of more than 15,000 records. He will work in the Office of Institutional Advancement, reporting to Jill Ballard, executive director.

“We are thrilled to have Shawn as a member of our advancement team,” Ballard said. “He has the right experience for the position and brings great enthusiasm to all of his work.”

Outside of work, Murray has volunteered as treasurer for the McKean County Special Olympics and enjoys biking, boating and photography.

He owns Shawn Murray Photography in Bradford.

He and his wife, Lauren, live in Bradford with two sons, Evan, 5, and Owen, 3.

Woman Charged with Posting
Nude Picture on Facebook

A Falconer, New York, woman is facing charges after allegedly posting a naked photo of a Warren woman on Facebook. Police say 22-year-old Lindsay Head posted the picture without the consent of the 21-year-old victim, who is dating Head's ex-boyfriend. Head is charged with dispersing obscene and sexual materials. The picture has been removed from Facebook.

Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police also learned there was an active warrant against him from City of Jamestown Court. He was sent to Chautauqua County Jail on $1,000 bail. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947
