Partial Bridge Collapse on I-80

For years, state lawmakers have been talking about the condition of roads and bridges in the Commonwealth – and today people in part of the Poconos saw firsthand how bad the bridges are.

At 9 o’clock this morning, part of a bridge on Interstate 80 collapsed near the Tannersville exit in Monroe County, as did the wall that holds up dirt near the bridge, according to PennDOT's website.

Eastbound traffic is down to one lane. PennDOT inspectors are on the scene to assess the damage. PennDOT says that section of the road will be one lane until further notice.
