Pat Ryan to Receive UWBA
Excellence in Representation Award

The United Way of the Bradford Area will honor Pat Ryan, Director of Operations at Futures Rehabilitation Center, as this years Excellence in Representation awardee.

The creation of this award, deemed as the Excellence in Representation, stems from the involvement displayed (in the United Way’s most recent campaign) from their funded agencies. The recipients commitment and connection to the United Way’s mission was prevalent and remains as such throughout the year.

“As we honor Pat (Ryan) this year the definition of the award speaks for itself through Pat’s example. Pat remains a mentor of the United Way speakers bureau and the voice of our collaboration with our funded agencies”, according to Kelly Case, Executive Director of the United Way of the Bradford Area.

Futures Rehabilitation has been providing vocational and activity services for over 40 years for persons with disabilities. The longevity and strength of the programs is a tribute to the hardworking participants and employees, Pat being prevalent with Futures for 35 years. Pat began his career as a supervisor in the janitorial training program. He has held various positions, including production supervisor and vocational evaluator, before becoming the Director of Operations in 1998.

“I am honored to be recognized by one of my favorite organizations. The United Way helps so many people in the community and I have always enjoyed being a part of that”, Ryan stated.

Pat keeps the focus of the United Way at the forefront of all he does. He has been involved with the United Way speakers bureau since 1979 and was a co-chair of the annual campaign in 2009.

“We are very pleased to be able to acknowledge the efforts of Pat, as well as his associates at Futures”, says Megan Minich, Community Relations and Marketing Specialist.

Ryan will officially be honored during a dinner scheduled for June 2 at 6:00 pm in the Mukaiyama University Room at Pitt-Bradford. The cost is $15/person.
