Part of I-86 Closed
The westbound lanes of Interstate 86 between the Allegany State Park Red House Area and the Quaker Run Area are currently closed, and the New York State Department of Transportation expects them to stay closed for about three month.
The closure is due to a "slope failure," meaning part of the road is washed out.
The westbound on ramp from Route 417 to westbound Interstate 86 is closed as well. Exit 20 and Exit 19 will remain open.
A detour is posted at Exit 21 (Parkway Drive) for thru traffic on westbound Interstate 86.
