Pickup Truck Hits Pole on Route 5
A Ripley, New York, man is facing charges after his vehicle hit a utility pole early this morning on Route 5 in Ripley.
Sheriff’s deputies say a pickup truck driven by 25-year-old Brent Wilkinson went into the opposite lane of travel at just before 4 a.m. and hit a utility pole. The pickup then traveled off the road and into the woods. A passing vehicle then hit a wire from the utility pole that was hanging across the road, causing damage to that vehicile.
Wilkinson is charged with driving while intoxicated and several other infractions. He will appear in court at a later date.
