PSP: Man Tried to Lure Young Girls

Pennsylvania State Police are looking for an Ashville, New York, man who they say tried to lure young girls twice during the last year.

40-year-old David Michael Lopus allegedly tried to make contact with an 11-year-old at the Sugar Grove Elementary School last June. When he attempted to lure the girl into a nearby portable toilet, she ran for help.

Then on Tuesday at the Sunset Trailer Park in Conewango Township Lopus allegedly approached another young girl.

A resident gave police a description of his vehicle, which matched the description of the vehicle at the playground. The vehicle is a 2004 Jeep Cherokee with the new gold and blue New York license plate FJM8810 or the old white plates with EMU 6868.

Anyone who knows of Lopus’s whereabouts is asked to contact Warren-based state police immediately. He is facing charges of interference with custody of children, stalking, luring a child and harassment.
