State police say at around 11 o’clock at night the suspect forced his way into the Town of Pomfret home and tried to steal a flat screen TV. The homeowner confronted the burglar, who then assaulted the woman and left with the TV.
The woman was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Brooks Memorial Hospital. Police are still looking for the burglar.
