Crews Prepare for Emergency Landing,
But All is Well at Olean Airport

There was a tense situation at the Olean Airport this afternoon.

At about 12:30 state police got a report saying a twin-engine plane with two people on board was having trouble with its landing gear, and was possibly going to have to make an emergency landing.

The plane circled the airport to burn off fuel, and then landed safely at about 1:20.

Pilot Justin Grenert and passenger Robby Cushing were taking aerial photographs of potential Marcellus Shale drilling sites in Pennsylvania.

I was downtown just before 1 and saw a plane flying low and slow to the south of Bradford, going east. It struck me as odd. Wonder if this was the same plane?

I wouldn't be surprised if it was.
