Three Sentenced for Welfare Fraud

Two McKean County residents and one from Elk County have pleaded guilty to welfare fraud and have been sentenced to probation.

The Office of the Inspector General announced today that 46-year-old Jerry Causer and 29-year-old Rochelle Causer, both of Kane received more than $5,550 in LIHEAP and SNAP benefits they were not entitled to, and will each spend 23 ½ months on probation, perform 30 hours of community service and pay full restitution and costs.

34-year-old Richard Imhof Jr. of St. Marys will spend 7 years on probation for receiving more than $5,300 in cash assistance and SNAP benefits. He must also make full restitution.
