Man Charged for Shooting Son
An Allegany County man is facing charges for shooting his son late Sunday night.
State police say 47-year-old Adam Prentice of Alma “recklessly discharged a round” from an antique Winchester rifle. The shot went through a hallway and living room wall, and hit Prentice’s son in his left arm.
The 19-year-old was treated at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville and is expected to recover.
Troopers say a woman at the scene told them the shooting was accidental.
