Janet Mealy

Co-founder of Mount Jewett Assembly of God Church

Janet R. Mealy, 58, of 8595 Rt. 6, Kane, went to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Monday, December 19th, 2011 at her daughter's residence surrounded by her loving family.

Born October 26, 1953, in Bradford, PA, a daughter of the late James "Ralph" Wolfe and Lois L. (Burns) Wolfe who survives her of Gastonia, NC.

On March 31, 1973 in St. Bernard Church she married the man she always loved Clayton E. Mealy who survives.

Mrs. Mealy was a 1971 graduate of Bradford Area High School. She had been an in house nanny for many years and a stay at home mom where she home schooled her children.

She was a treasured member of the body of Christ, cornerstone and co-founder of the Mount Jewett Assembly of God Church. She was a prayer warrior, loved nothing more than telling everyone about Jesus, and her family will get the opportunity to thank her for it in Heaven. Jannie lived a life made rich by her faith, family and friends, of whom she had many. She is known for her unconditional love, her enduring faith and her servant's heart. Mrs. Mealy served as an adopted grandmother for the Watoto Children's Choir.

Janet was the mother of four blessed children; Catherine E. Mealy, Camdon (Jennifer) Mealy, Nathan (Donya) Mealy and Bethany L. Mealy. She was the oh-so proud grandmother of granddaughters; Gracie Leigh Mealy and Hattie Luella Mealy, one sister, Lynn L. (Robert) Cotton of Gastonia, NC, a brother Lea J.(Esther) Wolfe of Ablene, TX, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother James Whelan.

Family will be receiving friends on Thursday, December 22, 2011, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc. South Ave., and again on Friday, December 23, from 10:00am to 11:00am in the Mount Jewett Assembly of God Church where funeral and committal services will be held at 11:00 am with Chaplain Ed Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Bridgeview Cemetery.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Watoto Children's Choir c/o Mt Jewett Assembly of God Church.
