Sex Offenders Rounded Up

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Office, along with several federal and local law enforcement agencies, took nearly a dozen sex offenders into custody earlier this month after a check in November.

The Sheriff's Office, along with the U.S. Marshals Service, Olean Police Department and Salamanca Police Department, conducted the operation on Nov. 8-10, targeting the address verification of registered sex offenders. Eleven people were not living at the addresses they reported to the New York State Sex Offender Registry, and nine were taken into custody and sent to jail.

The nine taken into custody were Mark Veasley, 49, a Level 3 sex offender found in Buffalo; Darryl Myers, 40, a Level 3 sex offender found in Limestone; Donald Yocum, 48, a Level 2 sex offender found in Holland; Robert Marvin, 32, a Level 2 sex offender found in Weston Mills; John Gagner, 40, a Level 2 sex offender found in Hinsdale; Lawrence Vancuran, 32, a Level 2 sex offender found in Buffalo; and Max Reyes, 40, a Level 3 sex offender found in Olean. The other offenders taken into custody are Level 1 offenders whose details were not released.

Sheriff’s deputies say they are still looking for 24-year-old Mathew Fox and 40-year-old William Bliss. Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff's office at 716-928-9917.
