Devereux Hall Fire Ruled Arson

Sunday’s fire in a dorm at St. Bonaventure University has been ruled arson, and investigators are trying to determine who started the fire.

Sheriff’s deputies say two microwaves in Devereux Hall were stuffed with paper products and one of them caught fire at around 6 a.m. Between 250 and 300 students were evacuated and sent to the lobby of Shay-Loughlin Hall for about an hour and a half.

Investigators have interviewed about 80 students so far.

No one was hurt, and damage was limited to the area of the microwave that caught fire.
