Curtis Carlson

Curtis L. Carlson, 86, of 1319 East Main St., Bradford, passed away, Thursday, February 2nd, 2012 at The Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born July 2, 1925, in Bradford, he was a son of the late Wallace and Olive (Alexis) Carlson. He was a 1943 graduate of Bradford High School.

On March 6, 1943 he enlisted in the United States Army and served in Central Europe, Rhineland, ROME-ARNO and Southern France with the Battery A 747th Field Artillery Battalion, he was honorably discharged on December 23, 1945.

On May 3, 1947 in Bradford he married Margaret L. (Washburn) Carlson who survives.

He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Evangelical Church and served on Church Council.

He was formerly employed at Ed Debartolo Developers in OH, William Christie & Sons in Kane and prior to his retirement he was a foreman at S. M. Gleason Company.

He was a member of the Kane Elks Club and served as Past Exhalted Ruler, member and past governor of the Kane Moose Lodge and the Kane Rotary Club, member of the Mountian Grange in Kane, Masonic Lodge of Olean, the American Legion, and the VFW Post in Bradford.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are three sons: Stephen D. (Beverly) Carlson of Akron NY, David L. (Judy) Carlson of Kane, and Richard L. Carlson of Forestville NY, two brothers: Robert Carlson of Willow Creek, and Kenneth (Dorothy) Carlson of St. Marys, 10 grandchildren: Kandie (Joel) Gay, Kristen (Don) Kohl, Amye (Doug) Burton, Eric (Becky) Carlson, Julia (Dale) Anderson, Katie (Ray) Dupree, Michael Carlson, Zachary Carlson, Brandon (Cheree) Caprio, and Joseph Caprio, 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son Donald L. Carlson, one brother Duane "Swede" Carlson.

Family will be receiving friends on Monday, February 6th, from 10:00am to 11:00am in the Emanuel Lutheran Evangelical Church, at 11:00am funeral and committal will be held in the church with Rev. Douglas Soley interim pastor officiating. Following the funeral Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Army. Burial will be in Kanesholm Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.

HARRISBURG — Attorney General Tom Corbett today announced that agents from the Attorney General’s Bureau of Narcotics Investigation, assisted by local police officers from across Erie County and the Pennsylvania State Police, are in the process of arresting 41 suspects linked to a nearly $5 million drug organization operating in and around Erie. Woman Charged with Posting
Nude Picture on Facebook

A Falconer, New York, woman is facing charges after allegedly posting a naked photo of a Warren woman on Facebook. Police say 22-year-old Lindsay Head posted the picture without the consent of the 21-year-old victim, who is dating Head's ex-boyfriend. Head is charged with dispersing obscene and sexual materials. The picture has been removed from Facebook.

Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police also learned there was an active warrant against him from City of Jamestown Court. He was sent to Chautauqua County Jail on $1,000 bail. The news leader of the Twin Tiers ... since 1947
