School Bus, SUV Collide in Gerry

A school bus carrying members of the Dunkirk High School track team collided with an SUV this afternoon on Route 60 in the Town of Gerry.

State police say about 20 people were taken to area hospitals, mainly as a precaution, but they believe the driver of the SUV may have suffered more serious injuries. A Starflight helicopter was called in.

The bus carrying the girls track team was headed to a meet at Southwestern.

Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
