Cleland Issues Order to Protect Integrity of
Ongoing Sandusky Investigation
You may have heard a taped police interview with Matt Sandusky, Jerry Sandusky's adopted son, on the Today show or on 1490 WESB from NBC Radio News.
In the interview Matt Sandusky says he, too, was sexually abused by the 68-year-old former football coach.
Don’t expect exclusives like this from NBC or any other network anytime soon. Judge John Cleland today ordered that material not made part of the record during the trial shall not be disclosed to any person or entity not directly involved in the defense of Sandusky’s criminal prosecution.
Cleland wrote the he issued the order because it appears that “a protective order is required to assure the integrity of ongoing criminal investigations” and to protect the privacy of victims who have testified or who may testify in the future.
Matt Sandusky did not testify but most likely would have been used as a rebuttal witness for the prosecution if his father took the stand in his own defense.
