Cleland: Jury Could Have Case Thursday
Judge John Cleland says jurors in the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse trial could be deliberating by Thursday.
After testimony ended at around 2 o’clock this afternoon Cleland told the jurors it’s likely the defense will rest its case Wednesday and it will be in their hands the next day.
Cleland also told jurors they will be sequestered for deliberations.
The prosecution rested its case against the former Penn State assistant football coach this morning, and the defense called three witnesses after that. All three testified that Sandusky was an admired local figure because of his ties to Penn State and because of his charity for disadvantaged children, The Second Mile.
