Chautauqua County House Explodes

A natural gas leak caused an explosion at a Chautauqua County home Sunday morning.

Firefighters were called to the Sinclairville home at just before 11 a.m. for an explosion and found the house in flames.

The people in the house were able to get out and suffered only minor injuries.

The Chautauqua County Fire Investigation team determined that the explosion was caused by a natural gas leak in the basement.

Two Arrested on Drug Charges

Two people were arrested on drug charges after state police got a report about unauthorized use of a vehicle. Troopers found the vehicle in Randolph on Wednesday and arrested the driver, 31-year-old Bridget Bardo of Conewango, for aggravated unlicensed operation and criminal possession of a controlled substance. She was released on her own recognizance and scheduled to appear in Town of Randolph Court. Her passenger, 28-year-old Andrew Jaquish of Salamanca, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
