Man Jailed on Forgery Charge
A Johnstown man is a facing forgery charge for attempting to cash a company check Saturday night at the Johnsonburg Bi-Lo.
40-year-old Brett Clevenger left the store with the check, then left the area. But police found him Sunday – in the Bi-Lo parking lot again.
He is charged with criminal attempt at forgery, a felony, along with criminal attempt at theft by deception.
Clevenger was arraigned by District Judge Tony King and sent to Elk County Jail on $5,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 8.
